Abstract:
(EN) To improve wear resistance of shoulder portions of a radial-ply tire, the tire comprises a tread portion (5) provided with central areas (7) (7) which each have circumferentially - extended, continuous grooves (9). The central areas each have a width (W) which is extended from tire center line (l) across a distance w defined by the following formula: w = W/2 - O.365H (where W and H are width and height, respectively, of the tire under its nominal inflation pressure.
(FR) Pour ameliorer la resistance a l"usure des epaulements d"un pneu radial, le pneu comprend une bande de roulement (5) pourvue de deux zones centrales (7), (7) qui possedent chacune des rainures continues circonferentielles (9). Les zones centrales ont chacune une largeur (W) qui s"etend a partir de la ligne mediane du pneu (1) sur une distance definie par la formule suivante: V = W/2 - 0,365 H (ou W et H sont respectivement la largeur et la hauteur du pneu dans des conditions de gonflage a pression nominale).
