Abstract:
(EN) Apparatus for forming a seal between layers of a carton of thermoplastic coated paperboard material and the like in a sealant activating station wherein the sealant is activated and a clamping and sealing station wherein the sealant is allowed to cool and set under pressure to form a seal between the layers. The carton (10) first moves to the activating station (40) wherein the layers to be sealed are engaged on opposite surfaces by a vibrating horn (50) and a movable first backup member in the form of an anvil (23) for a time sufficient to activate the thermoplastic material which serves as sealant. A first adjustable over travel spring assembly (88) biases the first backup member (23). The carton then moves to the clamping and sealing station (42) where a movable pressure pad (90) and a second backup member (l52) engage the layers having the activated thermoplastic thereon for a predetermined period of time to permit the activated thermoplastic to cool, set and form a seal. A second adjustable over travel spring assembly (92) biases the pressure pad (90). The carton is carried by a conveyor assembly (18), which is synchronized with the movement of the first backup member (23) and the pressure pad (90). The vibrating horn (50) is also mounted for manual pivotal movement away from the activating station (40) about a pivot point (46).
(FR) Appareil de formation d"un joint entre les couches d"une boite en carton avec un revetement thermoplastique dans une station d"activation d"un agent de collage ou l"agent de collage est active et une station de fixation et de fermeture ou l"agent de collage peut refroidir et prendre, sous pression, pour former un joint entre les couches. La boite en carton (10) arrive en premier lieu a la station d"activation (40) ou les couches a coller sont engagees sur leurs surfaces opposees par un guide a vibrations (50) et un premier element d"adossement mobile sous forme de tasseau (23) pendant une periode de temps suffisamment longue pour activer le materiau thermoplastique servant d"agent de collage. Un second assemblage a ressort reglable (92) degage le patin presseur (90). La boite en carton est portee par une unite transporteuse (18), qui est synchronisee avec le mouvement du premier element d"adossement (23) et du patin presseur (90). Le guide a vibrations (50) est monte de maniere a pouvoir pivoter et se degager de la station d"activation (40) sur un point de pivotement (46).
