Abstract:
(EN) Copolymer comprising a major amount of hydrophobic monomer such as acrylic ester, methacrylic acid ester, aromatic vinyl and vinyl cyanide, and a minor amount of hydrophilic monomer such as acrylic acid and methacrylic acid is stably dispersed in water without the aid of emulsifier. An electrostatically-recording medium is produced by the application of the aqueous dispersion of said copolymer on a supporting member having a low-resistance back surface to form an image-holding layer. This electrostatically-recording medium has advantages in which, upon its production, there is no need of using inflammable solvent and emulsifier and also, upon high-speed imaging process, high-quality images are provided even under high-humidity condition. Polyethyleneimine and polyepoxy compounds may be added to the aqueous dispersion to crosslink the copolymer, thus resulting in the improvement of recording characteristics. To be further effective in writing quality, polyacrylamide may be added.
(FR) Un copolymere comprenant une grande quantite d"un monomere hydrophobe tel qu"un ester acrylique, un ester d"acide methacrylique, un vinyle aromatique et un cyanure de vinyle, et une petite quantite d"un monomere hydrophile tel que l"acide acrylique et l"acide methacrylique, est disperse de maniere stable dans l"eau sans l"aide d"un emulsionneur. Un moyen d"enregistrement electrostatique est produit par application de la dispersion aqueuse dudit copolymere sur un element de support ayant une arriere surface de faible resistance pour former une couche de support d"image. Ce moyen d"enregistrement electrostatique possede des avantages connus par exemple, en cours de fabrication, il n"est pas necessaire d"utiliser un solvant et un emulsionneur inflammables et aussi, utilise avec un procede rapide de mise en image, on obtient des images de tres bonne qualite meme dans des conditions de forte humidite. Des composes de polyethyleneimine et de polyepoxy peuvent etre ajoutes a la dispersion aqueuse pour reticuler le polymere, ameliorant ainsi les caracteristiques d"enregistrement. Pour ameliorer la qualite d"ecriture, on peut ajouter du polyacrylamide.
