Title (EN) CORROSION-AND OXIDATION RESISTANT NI-BASED ALLOY WITH A NUMBER OF COMPONENTS
(FR) ALLIAGE A PLUSIEURS COMPOSANTS A BASE DE NI RESISTANT A LA CORROSION ET A L"OXYDATION
Abstract: front page image
(EN)The alloy contains iron and, (expressed by weight), 0.5 to 4% B, 0.05 to 1.5% C and 0.5 to 5% Si wherein the Fe percentage has been increased from 5 to 30% by weight and wherein O.1 to 20% by weight of one or several carbide- and/or boride-forming elements have been added, such as Mo, V, Nb, W, Zr, HF, Ta, Ti and Cr, the last mentioned not being present above. In such an alloy, there is no formation or, at the most, little formation of FeB and Fe3C and a good to a very good ductility is provided. This alloy is less expensive because of its increased Fe content and is further provided with a higher resistance to oxidation and corrosion than that of conventional alloys of this type with an extremely reduced Fe content.
