Abstract:
(EN) A simulated view on a viewing surface of a raster scan television display of a changeable illuminated area located on a plane surface is provided. The source of illumination is a cone of light whose apex can be located at any distance from an eyepoint and the plane surface and whose conical surface intersects the plane surface creating the illuminated area. One element (78) of the invention as shown in Fig. 8 develops orientation signals representative of the relative geometrical orientations of the plane surface, eyepoint and cone of light. Line of sight signals representative of the position on the viewing surface of a line of sight from the eyepoint, through the viewing surface to a plane surface intersection point are also developed, by another element (80). The line of sight signals and orientation signals are combined in a signal processor (82) to generate a signal representative of the location of the intersection point relative to the conic section which results from the intersection of the cone of light with the plane surface. A signal comparator (84) determines whether the intersection point is within or without the conic section, and controls a video processor (86) to create an illumination area on the viewing surface corresponding to the plane surface intersection point when the point lies within or on the conic section.

La source d"illumination est un cone de lumiere dont l"apex peut se situer a n"importe quelle distance d"un oeil et de la surface plan et dont la surface conique coupe la surface plan, creant ainsi la zone illuminee. Un element (78) de l"invention represente dans la Fig. 8 developpe des signaux d"orientation representant les orientations geometriques relatives de la surface plan de l"oeil et du cone de lumiere. Une ligne de signaux de vue representant la position sur la surface de vision d"une ligne de vue allant de l"oeil a travers la surface de vision d"un point d"intersection avec la surface plan est egalement developpee par un autre element (80). La ligne de signaux de vue et les signaux d"orientation sont combines dans un processeur de signaux (82) qui produit un signal representant la position du point d"intersection par rapport a la section conique formee par l"intersection du cone de lumiere avec la surface plan. Un comparateur de signaux (84) determine si le point d"intersection se trouve a l"interieur ou a l"exterieur de la section conique et commande un processeur video (86) pour produire une zone d"illumination sur la surface de projection correspondant a la surface plan avec le point d"intersection a l"interieur ou sur la section conique.
