Abstract:
(EN) The problem of conducting chemical reactions at elevated temperatures and pressures, such as in the wet oxidation of a waste stream, without excessive expenditures of energy is solved by the method and apparatus for effecting accelerated chemical reactions utilizing a reactor (15) extending into a vertical hole (16) in the earth and having an outer flow passage (21) receiving influent fluid from a supply (38) and supply lines (31 and 33) pumped with air by a pressure pump (29). The fluid undergoes an accelerated oxidation in the hole giving off the products of reaction, heat, and an effluent fluid which flows up an inner flow passage (22) to a settling tank (41) and/or other discharge lines (44, 42). Apparatus for control of temperature, pressure and flow rate are also provided to maximize reaction rates and minimize power requirements.
(FR) Le probleme pour mener a bien des reactions chimiques a des temperatures et des pressions elevees, telles que dans l"oxydation par voie humide d"un courant d"eaux vannes, sans effectuer des depenses excessives d"energie, est resolu par la methode et l"appareil de reactions chimiques accelerees utilisant un reacteur (15) s"etendant dans un trou vertical (16) amenage dans le sol et ayant un passage d"ecoulement exterieur (21) recevant un fluide affluent d"une source d"alimentation (38) et de conduites d"alimentation (31 et 33) pompe avec de l"air par une pompe a pression (29). Le fluide subit une oxydation acceleree dans le trou degageant les produits de reaction, la chaleur, et un fluide effluent qui remonte par un passage d"ecoulement (22) vers un reservoir de clarification (41) et/ou d"autres canalisations de decharge (44, 42). Des appareils de commande de la temperature, de la pression et du debit sont aussi prevus pour porter les vitesses de reaction au maximum et reduire au minimum les besoins en energie.
