Title (EN) SHORT-CIRCUITER FOR HIGH DIRECT CURRENTS
(FR) COURT-CIRCUITEUR POUR GROS COURANTS CONTINUS
Abstract: front page image
(EN)The low voltage, high direct current unipolar short-circuiter allows to isolate and disassemble anyone of the cells of a series of electrolysis cells for producing chlorine or aluminium, for example, without affecting nor interrupting the operation of the other cells. The short-circuiter according to the invention is fitted with two sets of moving contacts (26, 32) controlled by a common shaft (24) and cooperating with two current lead assemblies having a deformable part (3, 4, 16, 17) and cooled by water circulation in housings (9, 22).
