(EN)The baffle (40) is in the form of a relatively thin flat plate supported in a fixed position substantially perpendicular to and spaced from the exit orifice (30) of the air jet. The baffle (40) is provided with an opening (61) through which the yam (Y) passes after leaving the exit orifice (30) of the air jet. The opening (61) produces a shock wave in the air leaving the exit orifice (30) and passing through the opening (61) and the yarn (Y) is drawn against an edge (60) of the opening (61) which functions as a twist trap. First adjustment means (45) is provided for varying the distance between the baffle (40) and the exit orifice (30) and second adjustment means (54) is provided for varying the perpendicular position of the baffle (40) relative to the exit orifice (30). This baffle (40) permits higher operating speed of the air jet and enhances the crimps, curls and loops imparted to the yam by the air jet.
