(EN)A method of preparing cyanuric acid wherein molten urea is heated up to the temperature range of from 180 C to 300 C by the use of high-frequency dielectric heating. The molten urea may be either molten urea substantially composed of urea or molten urea which includes molten biurets. The molten urea is converted to cyanuric acid by the generation of heat caused by the dielectric loss in a high-frequency electric field. It will be noted that cyanuric acid does not generate heat. Thus, this invention eliminates the disadvantages of the conventional methods, such as poor heat transfer to the reaction system, contamination of product by raw material, excess heating of product, adhesion of product to the walls of reaction vessel and the like.
(FR)Methode de preparation d"acide cyanurique consistant a chauffer de l"uree fondue jusqu"a une temperature de 180 C a 300 C par chauffage dielectrique a haute frequence. L"uree fondue peut etre de l"uree fondue essentiellement pure ou comprenant un biuret fondu. L"uree fondue est transformee en acide cyanurique sous l"effet de la chaleur degagee par les pertes dielectriques dans un champ electrique a haute frequence. Il convient de noter que l"acide cyanurique ne provoque pas de degagement de chaleur. Cette invention permet donc d"eliminer les inconvenients des methodes conventionnelles, tels que le faible transfert de chaleur au systeme reactionnel, la contamination du produit par les matieres premieres, le chauffage excessif du produit, l"adherence du produit aux paroi de l"enceinte de reaction et autres inconvenients du meme type.
