(EN)A slack adjuster for a rail vehicle brake system, comprising a brake force receiving adjuster tube (1, 1A), a spindle (4; 4A) axially movable therein, and two nuts, an adjuster nut (5; 5A) and a leader nut (6; 6A), which are in non-self-locking thread engagement with the spindle and are held resiliently in clutch engagement with a clutch ring (7; 7A) and a control sleeve (16; 16A) respectively, the latter being axially movable in the tube a distance (A) corresponding to the desired slack. In order to transform this so called stroke-sensing adjuster into the so called clearance-sensing type being independent of the elasticity part of the application stroke the adjuster nut (5; 5A) and the clutch ring (7; 7A) in coaction are arranged to submit a force to the leader nut (6; 6A) for locking the latter against rotation under deformation of a resilient element (13; 30; 34; 38; 5A) at the occurence of a counter-force on the spindle (4; 4A) during the brake application.
(FR)Un rattrape-jeu pour frein d"un vehicule ferroviaire comprend un tube de rattrapage recevant la force de freinage (1; 1A), un axe (4; 4A) axialement mobile a l"interieur, et deux ecrous, un ecrou de rattrapage (5; 5A) et un ecrou de commande (6; 6A), qui sont engages sans autoblocage sur les filets de l"axe et maintenus elastiquement contre un anneau d"embrayage (7; 7A) et un manchon de commande (16; 16A), ce dernier etant mobile axialement dans le tube sur une distance (a) correspondant au rattrapage de jeu desire. De maniere a transformer ce rattrape jeu sensible a l"application de la force de freinage en rattrape-jeu independant de la partie elastique de l"application du freinage, l"ecrou de rattrapage (5; 5A) et l"anneau d"embrayage (7; 7A) sont disposes pour cooperer et transmettre une force a l"ecrou de commande pour verrouiller ce dernier en rotation sous l"effet de la deformation d"un element elastique (13; 30; 34; 38; 5A) lorsque survient une contre-force sur l"axe au cours du freinage.
