(EN)A fire extinguishinger having a vessel (1, 18) containing a fire extinguishing agent which is destroyed upon detecting the occurrence of a fire for scattering a fire extinguishing agent (29) in a room. The fire extinguisher includes an actuator member for destroying the vessel (1, 18) when the occurrence of a fire is detected. The actuator member is normally anchored by a retainer member (37) against a spring force. The retainer member (37) is locked by a thermally-fusible block (42) provided between the retainer member (37) and a set screw (41) which applies an urging force to the retainer member (37). The thermally-fusible block (42), is designed such that it will be fused when the room temperature rises up to a predetermined temperature. The thermally-fusible block (42) is normally subjected to a compressive force to minimize change with time.
