(EN)The laser consists of a metal housing (23) inside which there are two parallelepipedic dielectric blocks (7 and 10) made of a material of high dielectric coefficient, the blocs forming two capacitors (C1 and C2) in conjunction with the housing"s bottom (23) and two metallic armatures (11 and 12). The armature (11) common to both blocs (7 and 10) has a longitudinal rim (1) alongside bloc (10) towards a longitudinal rib (2) pointing from the bottom of the housing (23), the space (5) thus delimited between the rim (1) and the rib (2) constituting the laser cavity occupied by the active gas medium. As the armature (11) is connected to the housing (23) through a charging resistance (9), a high voltage source (18) connected between the other armature (12) and the housing (23) ensures the charge of one of the capacitors (C1). The production of a stimulated emission (26) inside the laser cavity (5) is initiated by the discharge of a spark-gap (E) disposed between the armature (12) and the housing (23), which discharge has effect to entail a transfer of charge from capacitor (C1) to capacitor (C2) connected to the laser cavity (5), which thus provokes the electric excitation of this cavity (5).
(FR)Le laser comprend un boitier metallique (23), a l"interieur duquel sont disposes deux blocs dielectriques parallelepipediques (7 et 10) faits en un materiau a haut coefficient dielectrique, lesdits blocs formant, en cooperation avec le fond du boitier (23) et deux armatures metalliques (11 et 12), deux condensateurs (C1 et C2). L"armature (11) commune aux deux blocs (7 et 10) comporte un rebord longitudinal (1) faisant saillie le long du bloc (10) en direction d"une nervure longitudinale (2) pointant du fond du boitier (23) l"espace (5) ainsi delimite entre le rebord (1) et la nervure (2) constituant la cavite du laser occupee par le milieu actif gazeux. L"armature (11) etant reliee au boitier (23) par l"intermediaire d"une resistance de charge (9), une source haute tension (18) branchee entre l"autre armature (12) et le boitier (23) assure la charge de l"un des condensateurs (C1). La production d"une emission stimulee au sein de la cavite laser (5) est initiee par le declenchement d"un eclateur (E) agence entre l"armature (12) et le boitier (23), lequel declenchement a pour effet d"entrainer un transfert de charge du condensateur (C1) au condensateur (C2) branche sur la cavite laser (5), provoquant ainsi l"excitation electrique de cette cavite (5).
