Abstract:
(EN) The charge for an internal combustion engine is comprised of a mixture of heated fuel-vapor-laden air and ambient air drawn through an air filter in a conventional manner. The vapor-laden air is obtained by first heating air in a heat exchanger (15) to a given temperature by picking up heat from the engine"s exhaust. The heated air is then drawn through a fuel-saturated air permeable element (21). Fuel is delivered to the air permeable element (21) and continuously circulated thereover. As the heated air passes through the element (21) it becomes laden with fuel-vapor; and, is cooled to a second temperature that is substantially below the first. The cooled fuel-vapor-laden air is then mixed with additional air and the resulting charge is delivered to the engine"s intake manifold.
(FR) La charge d"un moteur a combustion interne est compose d"un melange d"air chauffe comprenant du carburant vaporise et de l"air ambiant aspire de facon connue a travers un filtre a air. L"air additionne de carburant vaporise est obtenu en chauffant de l"air dans un echangeur de chaleur (15) jusqu"a une premiere temperature au moyen de la chaleur des gaz d"echappement. Ensuite, l"air chauffe est aspire a travers un element (21) permeable a l"air sature de carburant. Le carburant est amene a l"element permeable (21) et y circule de facon permanente. Lorsque l"air chauffe traverse l"element (21), il se sature en vapeur de carburant, et il se refroidit jusqu"a une seconde temperature qui est considerablement plus basse que la premiere. L"air refroidi comprenant du carburant vaporise est melange avec de l"air additionnel et la charge obtenue est amenee au tuyau d"aspiration du moteur.
