Title (EN) DRIVING METHOD FOR A RECORDING TAPE AND APPARATUS FOR A TELEPHONE ANSWERING SYSTEM
(FR) PROCEDE D"ENTRAINEMENT D"UNE BANDE D"ENREGISTREMENT ET APPAREIL POUR UN REPONDEUR TELEPHONIQUE
Abstract: front page image
(EN)Tape driving method and apparatus usable for a telephone answering system whereby an answering tape (T-1) and a receiving tape (T-2) are driven simultaneously upon reception of a telephone signal. Since portion (T2-1, T2-3) of the receiving tape (T-2) which is driven simultaneously with portion (T1-1, T1-3) of the anwering tape (T-1) cannot be used for recording the user"s voice, said portion (T2-1, T2-3) of the tape is generally of no use for such purpose. This defect, which is vital since the message should be recorded on a limited length of tape, is obviated by rewinding said portion (T2-1, T2-3) before the receiving tape (T-2) enters into the recording stage and the user"s voice is recorded (T3-1, T3-2). Although this involves a different rewinding length owing to diameter of the tape during the receiving time, blank portion (L1, L2) is located prior to the unused portion (T2-1, T2-3) and never overlaps the former recording portion (T3-1, T3-2). This invention is most suitable for a telephone answering system, of simple form, capable of remote signal reception.
