Abstract:
(EN) Sealing materials for making heat-resistant seals in electrical discharge devices comprise a rare earth oxide, such as lanthanum oxide, and boric oxide, preferably together with minor amounts of phosphorus pentoxide, aluminium oxide and magnesium oxide. Preferred compositions comprise 55 to 95 percent lanthanum or other oxide, 5 to 45 percent boric oxide and 0 to 5 percent phosphorus pentoxide, 0 to 5 percent aluminium oxide and 0 to 5 percent magnesium oxide. The compositions can be made by mixing the oxides, or appropriate salts, calcining the mixture at up to 1200 C and crushing it to a powder. They may be used as frits in a slurry or formed into pressed elements such as discs or washers. Sealing can be accomplished by heating the surfaces to be joined, together with the interposed sealing composition, to a temperature between 1100 and 1650 C.
(FR) Le materiau pour realiser des scellements resistant a la chaleur dans des dispositifs electriques a decharge comprend un oxyde de metal de terre rare comme l"oxyde de lanthane, et l"oxyde de bore, de preference avec de faibles quantites de pentoxyde de phosphore, de l"oxyde d"aluminium et de l"oxyde de magnesium. Des compositions preferees comprennent de 55 a 95% d"oxyde de lanthane ou d"un autre oxyde, de 5 a 45% d"oxyde de bore et de 0 a 5% de pentoxyde de phosphore, de 0 a 5% d"oxyde d"aluminium et de 0 a 5% d"oxyde de magnesium. Les compositions peuvent etre obtenues par: melange d"oxydes ou de sels appropries, calcination du melange a une temperature pouvant aller jusqu"a 1200 C et broyage de celui-ci a l"etat de poudre. Ces compositions peuvent etre utilisees comme frittes dans des suspensions ou pressees en elements tels que des disques ou des rondelles. Le scellement peut etre realise en chauffant les surfaces a reunir avec interposition de la composition de scellement a une temperature comprise entre 1100 et 1650 C.
