Abstract:
(EN) A method for electrolytic deposition of metals, particularly zinc, in which the tendency for the cathode to be attacked in the immediate vicinity of the solution level is eliminated or greatly reduced by positioning a barrier structure in the cell assembly in a manner such that it extends from slightly above to slightly below the level of the solution in the cell. The barrier, which may be of any material resistant to attack by the electrolytic solution, prevents the migration of the oxygen at the solution level and thus protects the cathode from solution level attack.
(FR) Procede de depot electrolytique de metaux, en particulier de zinc, dans lequel la tendance que presente la cathode a etre attaquee dans le voisinage immediat de la surface de la solution est eliminee ou notablement reduite par l"utilisation dans la cellule d"une structure formant barriere disposee au niveau de la surface de la solution, s"etendant legerement au-dessus de cette surface et penetrant dans la solution legerement en-dessous de la surface. Cette barriere, qui peut etre constituee en un materiau quelconque resistant a l"attaque de la solution electrolytique, empeche la migration de l"oxygene a la surface de la solution et protege ainsi la cathode de l"attaque au niveau de la surface de la solution.
