Abstract
(EN) A method for converting carbon dioxide into a solid carbonate is disclosed. The method includes contacting aqueous ammonia with carbon dioxide to form an ammonium carbonate solution. The method further includes reacting the ammonium carbonate solution with an ultramafic rock material to form the solid carbonate and regenerate aqueous ammonia, wherein the ultramafic rock material is thermally activated prior to the reacting step.
