Изобретение относится к биотехнологии и представляет собой способ синтеза белка, представляющего интерес, в растении или в части растения. Такой способ включает обработку растения для увеличения получения вторичной биомассы листьев с последующим введением в растение одной или более, чем одной нуклеиновой кислоты, кодирующей белок, представляющий интерес, функционально связанной с регуляторной областью, которая является активной в растении. Затем это растение выдерживают в условиях, которые обеспечивают экспрессию в растении или в части растения последовательности нуклеиновой кислоты, кодирующей белок, представляющий интерес.
