A temporary defect management area (14) is arranged between a control information recording area (12) and a data area (11) of a write once recording medium (10). Before finalizing the recording medium (10), defect management information is temporarily recorded in the temporary defect management area (14). When performing finalization, the defect management information is recorded in a determinate defect management area (13) provided in the control information recording area.

Une zone de gestion de défauts temporaire (14) est disposée entre une zone d'enregistrement d'informations de contrôle (12) et une zone de données (11) d'un support d'enregistrement non-réinscriptible (10). Avant la finalisation de ce support d'enregistrement (10), des informations de gestion de défauts sont enregistrées temporairement dans la zone de gestion de défauts temporaire (14). Lors de la finalisation, les informations de gestion de défaut sont enregistrées dans une zone de gestion de défauts déterminée (13) disposée dans la zone d'enregistrement d'informations de contrôle.

 追記型記録媒体10の制御情報記録エリア12とデータエリア11との間に一時的ディフェクト管理エリア14を設け、記録媒体10をファイナライズする前の段階では、一時的ディフェクト管理エリア14にディフェクト管理情報を一時的に記録しておく。ファイナライズをするときには、ディフェクト管理情報を、制御情報記録エリア内に設けられた確定的ディフェクト管理エリア13に記録する。
