Abstract
(EN) An observation satellite is used for obtaining information about electromagnetic energy emitted from the earth. The observation satellite orbits the earth in an orbit having an inclination larger than 90° and smaller than 270°. Further, the observation satellite comprises at least one receiving antenna, the at least one receiving antenna having a receiving pattern directed towards the earth, and suitable for receiving electromagnetic energy in the radio frequency range as the observation satellite is orbiting relative to the surface of the earth. The observation satellite also comprises a transmitter configured for at least one of: (i) retransmitting the received electromagnetic energy, (ii) transmitting information representing the received electromagnetic energy, and (iii) transmitting information derived from the received electromagnetic energy. The invention also relates to systems and methods therefor.
(FR) Selon l'invention, un satellite d'observation est utilisé pour obtenir une information concernant une énergie électromagnétique émise à partir de la terre. Le satellite d'observation est en orbite autour de la terre, selon une orbite ayant une inclinaison supérieure à 90° et inférieure à 270°. De plus, le satellite d'observation comprend au moins une antenne de réception, la ou les antennes de réception ayant un motif de réception dirigé vers la terre, et étant aptes à recevoir une énergie électromagnétique dans la plage des fréquences radio quand le satellite d'observation est en orbite par rapport à la surface de la terre. Le satellite d'observation comprend également un émetteur configuré pour au moins l'une parmi : (i) la retransmission de l'énergie électromagnétique reçue, (ii) l'émission d'une information représentant l'énergie électromagnétique reçue, et (iii) l'émission d'une information dérivée à partir de l'énergie électromagnétique reçue. L'invention porte également sur des systèmes et sur des procédés à cet effet.
