Patent 593254 Disclosed are benzene sulphonamide compounds of formula (I) where the substituents are as disclosed in the description. Examples of compounds of formula (I) are 4-(3-(3-(imino(4-isopropylpiperazin-1-yl)methyl)phenyl)ureido)-N-(4-sulfamoylbenzyl) benzenesulfonamide; 4-(3-(3-(imino(4-pentylpiperazin-1-yl)methyl)phenyl)ureido)-N-(4-sulfamoylbenzyl) benzenesulfonamide and 4-(3-(3-((4-heptylpiperazin-1-yl)(imino)methyl)phenyl)ureido)-N-(4-sulfamoylbenzyl) benzenesulfonamide. Also disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of formula (I) and the use of a compound of formula (I) in the manufacture of a medicament for preventing or treating a diseases or condition in a subject such as malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum.
