Abstract
(EN) Patent 570109 A pet door kit comprises a frame for mounting in an aperture defined by a structure having an exterior and an interior; a door pivotally mounted in the frame and a lock attached to the frame and to the door. The lock has a locked and an unlocked state. The pet door further comprises a state controller to control the state and a control signal receiver attached to the state controller; a mat having a bristled surface thereon for placement exterior of the structure adjacent to the frame; a mat transmitter; a weight sensor disposed within the mat and electronically attached to the mat transmitter. The weight sensor is triggered when a predetermined weight is present on the mat. The pet door also comprises a clock in electronic communication with the mat transmitter with the clock storing a user-selected time interval electronically attached to the weight sensor and to the clock; a kit controller in electronic communication with the transmitter and with the control signal receiver with the kit controller comprising a first timer, a random number generator for generating a random number, and a control signal transceiver connected within the kit controller; and a speaker having a sound control mechanism electronically connected to the control signal transceiver. The mat transmitter transmits a first electronic signal to the kit control signal transceiver when the weight sensor is triggered during the user-selected time interval of the clock. The kit control signal transceiver activates the random number generator upon receipt of the first signal. The random number generator activates the timer for a time determined by a random number generated by the random number generator and after the time is lapsed, the control signal transceiver sends a second electronic signal to the control signal receiver and to the speaker sound control mechanism, and the control signal receiver activates the state controller to activate the unlocked state upon receipt of the second electronic signal and the sound control mechanism causes the speaker to produce an audible sound upon receipt of the second electronic signal. Instead of the mat transmitter the pet door can have an electronic beam sender and receiver pair and a transmitter in electronic communication with the electronic beam pair,. The pair has a binary PRESENT state and ABSENT state. The PRESENT state is triggered when the beam is interrupted between electronic beam the sender and the receiver by an object. The transmitter transmits a first electronic signal when the electronic beam pair is in the PRESENT state. The kit controller is in electronic communication with the transmitter and with the control signal receiver.
