Abstract
(EN) Patent 544211 A channel-shaped structural beam with a planar elongate web (2) and spaced hollow rectangular flanges (3) extending from an inner face of the web is disclosed. The web region between flanges is a single layer of metal of uniform thickness (t). The ratio of the width of the flanges (Wf) to the depth of the beam (Db) is in the range of 0.25 to 0.35, and the width (Wf) to depth (Df) ratio of each hollow flange is in the range of 1.5 to 4.0.
