Abstract

There is provided a liquefied gas supply nozzle which can supply a liquefied gas into the head space of each of containers without producing variation in the internal pressure among containers. The liquefied gas supply nozzle includes a cylinder (17) disposed opposite the head space (2) of a container (6), and a plug (18) which is slidably inserted into the cylinder. A plurality of grooves (19) for passage of a liquefied gas (G) are formed in the inner periphery of the cylinder in a direction parallel to the cylinder axis. The plug (18) is provided with an on-off valve (22) which closes all the grooves and shuts off the flow of the liquefied gas when the front end of the plug moves toward the outlet of the cylinder, and opens all the grooves and allows the liquefied gas to flow in the grooves when the front end of the plug moves toward the inlet of the cylinder. The depth of each groove (19) of the cylinder (17) is approximately constant, whereas the width gradually decreases with distance from the inlet of the cylinder (17), whereby the amount of the liquefied gas to be ejected from the outlet of the cylinder can be decreased by moving the front end of the plug (18) from the inlet side of the cylinder toward the outlet and, irrespective of the position of the front end of the plug, the liquefied gas, flowing out of the grooves at the outlet of the cylinder, can be ejected into the head space in the form of narrow streams which are approximately parallel to the cylinder axis.
