An aluminum thrust washer that has a wrought aluminum matrix that includes from 2 to 20 weight percent silicon, 0.1 to 4 weight percent of copper, with the remainder pure aluminum. The aluminum thrust washer is formed of a mono-metal structure without a backing layer. The wrought aluminum matrix has mechanical properties such that the aluminum matrix wears away, leaving silicon particles is continually increasing as the thrust washer is utilized.

Una arandela de empuje de aluminio que tiene una matriz de aluminio en bruto que incluye de 1 2 al 20%en peso de silicio, 0.1 a 4%en peso de cobre siendo lo restante aluminio puro. La arandela de empuje de silicio se forma o moldea en una estructura monometálica sin una capa de respaldo. La matriz de aluminio en bruto tienen propiedades metálicas tales como que la matriz de aluminio se desgasta desapareciendo dejando partículas de silicio que aumentan continuamente a media que se utiliza la arandela de empuje.
