Abstract
(EN)

PURPOSE: A high-density optical disk where an information area and a clamping area are formed in different thickness, and an optical disk device in accordance with the optical disk are provided to form upper and lower surfaces of a clamping area in different height based on a center of disk thickness, thereby more obtaining a separated distance between the optical disk and an objective lens of an optical pickup, consequently a collision between the disk and the objective lens can be prevented.

CONSTITUTION: An information area of a high-density optical disk(20) is thinner than a clamping area. Stepped parts are formed in a transition area assigned between the clamping area and the information area. The stepped parts are formed with certain angular inclinations until a previous start part of the information area after an end part of the clamping area.

(KO) 본 발명은, 정보 영역의 두께와 클램핑 영역의 두께가 서로 다르게 형성된 고밀도 광디스크와, 그에 따른 광디스크 장치에 관한 것으로, 블루레이 디스크(BD) 등과 같은 고밀도 광디스크가, 광디스크 장치 내에 구비된 턴테이블에 뒤집힌 상태로 오 삽입되는 경우, 광픽업의 대물렌즈(OL)가 최대 가동범위(OD_Max)까지 수직 이동되더라도, 고밀도 광디스크와 대물렌즈가 서로 충돌되지 않도록 하기 위하여, 고밀도 광디스크의 클램핑 영역과 정보 영역 사이에 할당된 트랜지션 영역에, 소정 각도의 기울기를 갖는 단차를 형성하여, 정보 영역의 두께를, 클램핑 영역의 두께보다 작게 형성시킴으로써, 광픽업의 대물렌즈(OL)와 고밀도 광디스크간의 충돌로 인한 파손 및 치명적인 서보 오류의 발생을 효율적으로 방지할 수 있게 되며, 또한, 고밀도 광디스크의 재료비 절감은 물론, 클램핑 파워를 유지할 수 있게 되고, 슬롯인(Slot-In) 타입의 광디스크 드라이브 내에 고밀도 광디스크를 보다 안전하게 삽입시킬 수 있게 되는 매우 유용한 발명인 것이다.
