The subject matter of this invention is a method for preparing metallic dihydroxybenzenedisulfonates, preferably from alkaline metals, from corresponding dihydroxybenzenedisulfonic acids. The method for preparing a metallic dihydroxybenzenedisulfonate according to the invention, from a corresponding dihydroxybenzenedisulfonic acid, is characterized by the fact that it includes the reaction of the dihydroxybenzenedisulfonic acid present in a sulfuric medium with an adequate quantity of a salt including a sulfate or hydrogenosulfate anion. ┬ęKIPO&WIPO 2009
