제 1 특성을 갖는 광을 출력하도록 배치된 광원을 포함하며 장면을 스캐닝하도록 배치된 광 검출 및 측량 시스템이 개시된다. 공간 광 변조기는 광원으로부터 광을 수신하도록 배치되며 그 상에 표현된 컴퓨터 생성 홀로그램에 따라 공간 변조된 광을 출력하도록 배치된다. 홀로그램 제어기는 복수의 컴퓨터 생성 홀로그램을 상기 공간 광 변조기로 출력하도록 배치된다. 각각의 컴퓨터 생성 홀로그램이 장면 내에서 대응하는 광 푸트프린트(light footprint)를 형성하도록 배치된다. 홀로그램 제어기는 장면 내에서 광 푸트프린트의 위치를 변경하도록 배치된다. 광 검출기는 장면으로부터 제 1 특성을 갖는 광을 수신하며 광 응답 신호를 출력하도록 배치된다. 실시예들에서, 복수의 제1 홀로그램들은 장면 내에서 제1 스캐닝을 제공하도록 배치되고, 홀로그램 제어기는 제1 스캐닝에 응답하여 제1 광 응답 신호를 수신하여 광 응답 신호의 속성을 기초로 복수의 제2 홀로그램을 결정하도록 배치된다.
