제1 참조 블록 및 제2 참조 블록의 경계 외부에 위치하는 픽셀에 관하여 저장된 값의 이용 없이 제1 참조 블록 및 제2 참조 블록에 포함된 참조 픽셀들에 관한 값을 이용하여 현재 블록의 경계 안쪽에 인접하는 픽셀을 포함하는 현재 블록의 픽셀들의 수평 방향 또는 수직 방향의 단위 시간당 변위 벡터를 결정하고, 현재 블록 내 현재 픽셀 그룹에 포함된 현재 픽셀에 대응하는 제1 참조 블록 내 제1 대응 참조 픽셀의 수평 방향 또는 수직 방향의 그래디언트 값, 현재 픽셀에 대응하는 제2 참조 블록 내 제2 대응 참조 픽셀의 수평 방향 또는 수직 방향의 그래디언트 값, 제1 대응 참조 픽셀의 픽셀 값, 제2 대응 참조 픽셀의 픽셀 값 및 현재 픽셀의 수평 방향 또는 수직 방향의 단위시간당 변위 벡터에 기초하여 현재 블록의 블록단위 움직임 보상 및 픽셀 그룹단위 움직임 보상을 수행하여 현재 블록의 예측 블록을 획득하는 비디오 복호화 방법이 개시된다. 이때, 픽셀 그룹은 적어도 하나의 픽셀을 포함할 수 있다.
