Abstract

본 발명의 실시예들에 따른 멀티미디어 콘텐트의 심리스 해상도 전환을 위한 해상도들을 선택하기 위한 시스템들 및 방법들이 개시된다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 있어서, 소스 인코더는 멀티미디어 콘텐트를 수신하기 위해 소스 인코더 애플리케이션으로 구성되는 처리기를 포함하고, 멀티미디어 콘텐트는 주 해상도 및 주 샘플 화면 비를 갖는 비디오 데이터를 포함하고 비디오 데이터를 대안적인 스트림들의 세트로서 인코딩하고, 대안적인 스트림들의 세트에서의 복수의 스트림들은 상이한 최대 비트레이트들 및 해상도들을 갖고, 복수의 스트림들 각각의 해상도는 정수의 화소들을 갖는 폭 및 높이를 포함하고, 복수의 스트림들 각각의 폭 및 높이 모두는 대응하는 주 해상도의 폭 및 높이의 상분수이다.
