(KO)
비페닐 화합물의 제조 방법에서, C 방향족 탄화수소는 히드로알킬화되어 C 시클로알킬방향족 화합물 및 부산물 C 포화 시클릭 탄화수소를 생성할 수 있다. C 시클로알킬방향족 화합물은 탈수소화되어 비페닐 화합물을 제공한다. C 포화 시클릭 탄화수소는 또한 추가의 공급물을 제공하기 위해 재순환될 수 있는 상응하는 C 방향족 탄화수소로 다시 탈수소화될 수 있다. 중간체 C 시클로알킬방향족 화합물 및 부산물 C 포화 시클릭 탄화수소 둘 모두가 탈수소화되어야 하지만, C 포화 시클릭 탄화수소의 탈수소화의 적어도 일부는 C 이상의 탄화수소의 부재 하에 일어나야 한다. 따라서, 부산물 C 포화 시클릭 탄화수소의 탈수소화는 적어도 부분적으로 C 시클로알킬방향족 화합물의 탈수소화와 별개로 일어나야 한다. n 2n n 2n n n 2n n n 2n n 2n
