PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical lens, in particular an image capturing optical lens.

SOLUTION: An image capturing optical lens consists of seven lenses in total, comprising a first lens, a second lens, a third lens, a fourth lens, a fifth lens, a sixth lens, and a seventh lens arranged in order from the object side to the image side, where at least one of the first through seventh lenses has a free-form surface, and satisfies the following conditional expressions: -4.50≤f4/f≤-2.00, 0.65≤d5/d6≤19.50, where f represents a focal length of the entire image capturing optical lens, f4 represents a focal length of the fourth lens, d5 represents an axial thickness of the third lens, and d6 represents an axial distance from an image-side surface of the third lens to an object-side surface of the fourth lens. The image capturing optical lens offers good imaging performance and meets the design requirements of extra thinness, a wider view angle, and a large aperture.

【解決手段】当該撮像光学レンズは、合計で7枚のレンズを含み、前記7枚のレンズは、物体側から像側に向かって順に、第1レンズ、第2レンズ、第3レンズ、第4レンズ、第5レンズ、第6レンズ及び第7レンズであり、第1レンズから第7レンズのうちの少なくとも1つが自由曲面を含み、撮像光学レンズ全体の焦点距離をf、第4レンズの焦点距離をf4、第3レンズの軸上厚みをd5、第3レンズの像側面から第4レンズの物体側面までの軸上距離をd6としたときに、条件式―4.50≦f4/f≦―2.00、0.65≦d5/d6≦19.50を満たす。本発明による撮像光学レンズは、良好な光学性能を有するとともに、極薄化、広角化及び大口径の設計要求を満たす。
