PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection element and a protection circuit, which allow for simplifying a protection circuit configuration and further reducing the size a device.

SOLUTION: A current sensing element 10 is provided, comprising a conductor 11 with a low-melting-point metal layer, a heat generator 12 connected to the conductor 11 and configured to be capable of fusing the low-melting-point metal layer by generating heat, and a temperature measurement element 13 for measuring temperature of the conductor 11.
