焼結した核燃料ペレット(10)、燃料棒、核燃料集合体、および核燃料ペレットの製造方法を、開示する。ペレットは、UOのマトリックス(20)と、マトリックス中に分散された粒子(21)とを含む。粒子は、ウラン含有材料を含む。粒子の各々は、金属コーティングによって封入される。ウラン含有物質は、UOのウラン密度よりも高いウラン密度を有する。金属コーティングは、Mo、W、Cr、VおよびNbの群から選択される少なくとも1つの金属からなる。
