Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of detecting an abnormality accompanying a current rise causing non-operation of a protection circuit.

SOLUTION: A display device 100 including a display circuit driven by power from a power supply circuit 102 comprises: a current measuring circuit 103 which measures a supply current to the display circuit; a pattern generating unit 104 which generates a prescribed pattern that is display-processed by the display circuit; a current value storing unit 106 which stores in advance the measurement current value measured by the current measuring circuit as a reference current value when the display circuit display-processes the prescribed pattern generated by the pattern generating unit 104; and a determination control unit 105 which determines whether the display circuit is abnormal. The determination control unit 105 causes the display circuit to display-process the prescribed pattern generated by the pattern generating unit 104, and determines whether the display circuit is abnormal on the basis of the measurement current value measured by the current measuring circuit 103 and the reference current value.

【解決手段】電源回路102からの電力によって駆動される表示回路を有する表示装置100であって、表示回路への供給電流を測定する電流測定回路103と、表示回路が表示処理する所定のパターンを生成するパターン生成部104と、パターン生成部104により生成した所定のパターンを表示回路が表示処理した際に、前記電流測定回路で測定した測定電流値を基準電流値として予め記憶する電流値記憶部106と、表示回路の異常を判定する判定制御部105と、を備え、判定制御部105は、パターン生成部104が生成する所定のパターンを表示回路に表示処理させ電流測定回路103で測定される測定電流値と基準電流値とに基いて、表示回路の異常を判定する。
