本発明によるビデオ符号化システムにおけるIntraBCモード (Intraブロックコピーモード)符号化ブロックのブロックベクトル (BV)予測の方法が開示される。複数のBV候補リストは、現在のブロックの隣接ブロックから生成される。BV候補リストが、現在のブロックのBVに、BV予測として選択される。現在のブロックは、現在のブロックのBVに従って配置されるIntra 参照ブロックに基づいて符号化される。一実施態様において、現在のブロックの左下(LB)ブロックが用いられて、第1BV候補リストを生成するとともに、現在のブロックの真上(AR)ブロックが用いられて、第2BV候補リストを生成する。1-ビットインデックスコードがシグナリングされて、第1BV候補リストおよび第2BV候補リスト間のBV予測を選択する。
