PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for providing a robust user experience with an automated system that includes sensory output, such as touch, taste, smell or all of them, in addition to visual output.

SOLUTION: The automated system can be an e-commerce or automated shopping system. The method can visually present a user selected item for consumer purchase within a graphical user interface (GUI). Sensory output can be provided that simulates smell, touch, taste or all of them, of the selected item. A user can then made a selection in the GUI to modify an aspect of the selected item or an environmental condition for an environment of the selected item, or both of them. The visual presentation of the object and the sensory output for the item can be adjusted in accordance with the user specified modification.

【課題】本発明は、視覚的出力に加え、肌触り、味またはにおい、あるいはその全て等の体感用出力を含む自動システムで、強力なユーザ・エクスペリエンスを提供するための方法を含む。
【解決手段】自動システムは、電子商取引用システムまたは自動ショッピング・システムとすることが出来る。本方法では、グラフィカル・ユーザ・インタフェース（ＧＵＩ）内でユーザにより選択された消費者購入向けアイテムを視覚的に表現することが出来る。選択されたアイテムのにおい、感触または味、あるいはその全てをシミュレートする体感用出力が提供され得る。続いて、ユーザは選択されたアイテムの性状、または選択されたアイテムに対する環境の環境条件、あるいはその両方を変更するよう、ＧＵＩで選択出来る。物体の視覚的表現およびアイテムの体感用出力は、ユーザ指定の変更に従って調整され得る。
