PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively suppress the generation of edge waves which are generated due to the yield stress deviation in the plate width direction and to effectively eliminate the edge waves which are generated in a plate material in spite of the yield stress deviation in the plate width direction, even when the diameters of leveling rolls are large.

SOLUTION: A roller leveler 100 includes: a leveling roll unit 20 having a plurality of leveling rolls 6, 8a, 8b which are rotated so as to make a plate material pass through while inserting and pressing the plate material P; pressing cylinders 4a, 4b for pressing the plate material P with the leveling rolls 6, 8a, 8b on the inlet side and outlet side of the leveling roll unit 20; and a driving mechanism 15 for making the plate material P pass through by rotating the leveling rolls 6, 8. At least one leveling roll 8b of the plurality of the leveling rolls 6, 8a, 8b has a stepped structure having: a width direction center part 21 with a large diameter corresponding to the center part in the plate width direction of the plate material; and width direction ends 22 with small diameters corresponding to the ends in the plate width direction of the plate material.

【課題】レベリングロールの直径が大きい場合でも、板幅方向の降伏応力偏差に起因して生じる耳波の発生を効果的に抑制すること、および板幅方向の降伏応力偏差にかかわらず板材に発生している耳波を効果的に解消すること。
【解決手段】ローラレベラ100は、板材Pを挟み込んで圧下しつつ板材を通板させるように回転する複数のレベリングロール6,8a,8bを有するレベリングロールユニット20と、レベリングロールユニット20の入側および出側においてレベリングロール6,8a,8bを介して板材Pを圧下する圧下シリンダ4a,4bと、レベリングロール6,8を回転させて板材Pを通板させる駆動機構15とを具備し、複数のレベリングロール6,8a,8bのうち少なくとも一つのレベリングロール8bは、板材の板幅方向中央部に対応する大径の幅方向中央部21と、板材の板幅方向端部に対応する小径の幅方向端部22を有する段付き構造である。
