本発明は、多重化FRET(Forster Resonance Energy Transfer)解析により試料中の検体を検出するための方法に関し、この方法は、エネルギー移動ドナー、スペクトル的に異なる複数の量子ドット種、及び検体を含む試料を提供するステップであって、上記検体は、上記エネルギー移動ドナーと第1の量子ドット種とにより提供される第1のエネルギー移動ドナー−アクセプターの組におけるエネルギー移動を仲介するように構成されており、上記エネルギー移動ドナーは、上記第1のエネルギー移動ドナー−アクセプターの組においてエネルギー移動ドナーとして作用するように構成されており、かつ、上記第1の量子ドット種は、上記第1のエネルギー移動ドナー−アクセプターの組においてエネルギー移動アクセプターとして作用するように構成されている、ステップと、上記試料に対し励起光源から励起光を照射するステップと、上記第1のエネルギー移動ドナー−アクセプターの組において、上記励起光により励起された上記エネルギー移動ドナーから上記第1の量子ドット種へと励起エネルギーが移動するステップであって、当該エネルギー移動が上記検体によって仲介されるステップと、上記励起エネルギーを受け取った後に上記第1の量子ドット種により放射された発光を検出するステップとを含む。
