医療用インプラントにとって、長い実行期間を有するインプラントを給電するバッテリを持つことだけでなく、残りの実行期間がどのくらい長いのかをいつでも正確に知ることは、重要である。一方で、バッテリを有するインプラントは、バッテリの再充電以外で、装置とほとんど又はまったく相互作用をする必要なく、できる限りユーザフレンドリであるべきである。これらの懸念をより良く解決するため、バッテリの充電状態を決定する方法が提案される。この方法は、バッテリを充電するステップと、バッテリを放電するステップと、再充電予測ユニットを使用して、バッテリの充電状態を予測するステップとを含み、バッテリを放電する間、再充電予測ユニットは、バッテリから切断される。バッテリを放電する間、すなわちバッテリに接続された装置を給電する間にいかなる測定も実行しないので、バッテリを放電する間のバッテリの充電状態の予測は、バッテリの放電サイクルの間、バッテリ又はバッテリによって給電されたインプラント、及び再充電予測ユニットの局所的な分離を可能にする。
