【課題】ノブ、当該ノブを支持し、結合して共に当該シャフトを支持する基部を回転させるシャフトからなる器具内における回転制御のためのシステム及び方法。
【解決手段】基部に動作上結合するセンサを、ノブ操作の態様、すなわち位置、速度、加速度、トルク、回転速度、回転時間、又はこれらの組み合わせに関する情報を検出するよう構成する。機械的ハプティック・アセンブリは、動作上、基部とシャフトとの間に結合され、基部に対するノブの動きに応答して機械系ハプティック効果を提供する。プログラム可能な電子系アクチュエータは、動作上、ノブに結合され、電子系のハプティックな力学的フィードバックを提供する。
