Abstract
(EN)

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waterproof connector with a terminal reverse insertion detecting function having simple construction for reducing component cost.

SOLUTION: The waterproof connector comprises a plurality of terminals 1 from which reverse insertion preventing stabilizers 3 are protruded, a connector housing 10 having terminal storage chambers 11 and a seal set part 12, and an elastic-material mat seal 20 having a plurality of through-holes 23 into which the terminals and wires can be pressed, and adapted to be fitted into the seal set part of the connector housing before inserting the terminals into the terminal storage chambers and closely attached to the outer peripheries of the wires extending to the rear sides of the terminals when inserting the terminals through the through-holes into the terminal storage chambers thereafter, for shutting off water between each wire and the connector housing. A wire seal part 25 is provided on a first half portion of the inner periphery of each of the through-holes of the mat seal 20 in the press-in direction of the terminal and the wire, and a reverse insertion detecting part 24 is provided on a second half portion for preventing the reverse insertion of the terminal.

【課題】部品コストを低減し得る簡易な構造の端子の逆挿入検知機能を有した防水コネクタを提供する。
【解決手段】逆挿入防止用のスタビライザ3が突設された複数の端子1と、端子収容室11とシールセット部12を有したコネクタハウジング10と、各端子および電線を圧入可能な複数の貫通孔23を有し、端子を各端子収容室に挿入する前にコネクタハウジングのシールセット部に嵌め込まれ、その後から貫通孔を通して端子収容室に端子が挿入されることで、各端子の後方に延びる電線の外周に密着して、電線とコネクタハウジングとの間を止水する弾性材料製のマットシール20とを具備する防水コネクタにおいて、マットシール20の各貫通孔の内周のうち、端子および電線の圧入方向の前半部に電線シール部25を設けると共に、後半部に、端子の逆挿入を防止する逆挿入検知部24を設けた。
