本発明は車両用ヘッドランプに関する。この場合、ロービーム用LED光源とハイビーム用LED光源から成る平坦な第1のLEDアレイと、LEDからロービーム光とハイビーム光を受け取る第1の1次ライトガイドと、コリメートされたロービーム光およびハイビーム光を第1の1次ライトガイドから受け取り、ロービームホットスポットとハイビームホットスポットの組み合わせとして集束させる第1の2次ライトガイドと、ロービーム用LEDとハイビーム用LEDを有するLED光源から成る平坦な第2のLEDアレイと、第2のLEDアレイからロービーム光およびハイビーム光を受け取りコリメートする第2の1次ライトガイドと、コリメートされたロービーム光とハイビーム光を受け取り、この光をロービームとハイビームの拡散パターンの組み合わせとして拡散する第2の2次ライトガイドと、第1のLEDアレイと第2のアレイと第1の1次ライトガイドと第1の2次光学ライトガイドと第2の1次光学ライトガイドと第2の2次ライトガイドを機械的に支持するケーシングが設けられている。
