本発明は、光記録担体の記録面に放射ビームを照射することによりマーク及びランドを形成するための方法及び装置に関する。記録処理の間、読み取りパワーレベルは記録パワーレベル(記録速度)に依存して設定される。加えて、記録パルスの直後に冷却ギャップが提案される。記録の間の読み取りは、より長いランドについてのみ行われる。本発明は、前記読み取りパワーを決定するための式が制御情報に含まれる光記録担体に関する。
