光記録キャリアに情報を記録するための記録パルス系列のパラメータからなるセットを決定する方法が開示される。はじめに、一連のテストパターンがパラメータの値で記録キャリアに書き込まれる。テストパターンを読取り、それぞれのリード信号のジッタ値が決定される。記録パルス系列のパラメータからなるセットと相対的なジッタ値との間の線形依存からパラメータの最適な値が導出される。また、本発明は、本方法を実行するために構成される装置に関する。さらに、本発明は、本発明に係る方法により決定された最適な記録パワーを有する光記録キャリアに関する。
