Abstract
(EN)

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film formed by laminating an absorption type polarizer and a birefringent film, the optical film being characterized in that a high contrast is obtained at a wide field angle with high transmissivity and high polarization degree being secured and unevenness of transmissivity during black display can be suppressed.

SOLUTION: The optical film has a transparent film which is formed of a scatter-dichroic absorption composite type polarizer formed of a film in structure such that fine regions are dispersed in a matrix formed of translucent resin containing an iodine-based light absorber and a solid polymer, the birefringent film satisfying nx>ny>nz, where nx, ny, and nz are refractive indexes in directions of an X axis where an in-surface refractive index becomes maximum, a Y axis perpendicular to the X axis, and a Z axis along the thickness of the film.

【課題】 吸収型偏光子と複屈折性フィルムとが積層されている光学フィルムであって、広い視野角に亘り高いコントラストを有し、高透過率、かつ高偏光度を有し、黒表示の際の透過率のムラを抑えることができる光学フィルムを提供すること。
【解決手段】 ヨウ素系吸光体を含有する透光性樹脂により形成されるマトリクス中に、微小領域が分散された構造のフィルムからなる散乱−二色性吸収複合型偏光子と、固体ポリマーにより形成される透明フィルムであって、面内屈折率が最大となる方向をX軸、X軸に垂直な方向をY軸、フィルムの厚さ方向をZ軸とし、それぞれの軸方向の屈折率をnx、ny、nzとしたとき、nx>ny>nzの特性を満足する複屈折性フィルムを有することを特徴とする光学フィルム。
