本発明は、電気を直接発生させるための電気化学電池または電気化学電池のスタック、特に燃料電池のスタック用のサブアセンブリの製造方法を提供する。この方法には、プレート、フレーム、流動場、シム、ガスケット、膜などの2つ以上の電気化学電池構成要素を一体で接合して、電気化学電池スタックの製造に使用されるサブアセンブリを形成する工程がある。その接合は、ポリマーおよび/または金属構成要素が関与するポリマー結合(すなわち接着剤)または金属構成要素が関与する金属結合(すなわちハンダ)を用いて行うことができる。その接合によって、気密セルが得られ、構成要素間の電子的接触抵抗が低下する。
