Abstract
(EN)

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject element having long life and capable of reducing the driving voltage of an organic EL element by providing a pair of electrodes and an organic luminescent layer containing an electric charge injecting auxiliary and adding a specific phenylenediamine derivative to a hole transporting zone between the above electrodes.

SOLUTION: This element has a pair of electrodes and an organic layer sandwiched between these electrodes and containing a charge injection auxiliary and contains a phenylenediamine derivative represented by formula I (Ar1 to Ar6 are each H, a 1-6C alkyl or the like; X is a single bond, a 6-24C arylene or the like; R1 and R2 are each a 1-6C alkyl, alkoxy or H), formula II (Ar7 to Ar12 are same as Ar1 to Ar6; Y is same as X; R4 and R5 are same as R1 and R2) or formula III (R5 and R6 are same as R1 and R2) and exhibiting 10-4 cm2/V.s hole mobility on using as a layer or a zone in a hole transporting zone provided between the above electrodes. The content of the phenylenediamine derivative is preferably 30-100 mol.%.
