Abstract:
(EN) A system for characterising a material is provided. The system comprises an optical sensor comprising an optical waveguide, the optical waveguide having first and second ends and being characterised by having a numerical aperture greater than or equal to 0.2, and a microresonator comprising an optically active material, the microresonator being positioned in an optical near field of an end face of the first end of the optical waveguide such that the optically active material is excitable by light. The system further comprises a light source for exciting the optically active material of the microresonator so as to generate whispering gallery modes (WGMs) in the microresonator and a light collector for collecting an intensity of light that is associated with the WGMs excited in the microresonator.
(FR) L'invention concerne un système destiné à caractériser un matériau. Ledit système comprend un capteur optique comprenant un guide d'onde optique, ledit guide d'onde ayant une première et une seconde extrémités et étant caractérisé par le fait d'avoir un orifice numérique supérieur ou égal à 0,2, et un microrésonateur comprenant un matériau optiquement actif, le microrésonateur étant positionné dans un champ optique proche d'une face d'extrémité de la première extrémité du guide d'onde optique de façon que le matériau optiquement actif soit excitable par la lumière. Le système comprend en outre une source lumineuse destinée à exciter ledit matériau optiquement actif du microrésonateur de manière à générer des modes de galerie (WGM) dans le microrésonateur et un collecteur de lumière qui recueille une intensité lumineuse associée aux WGM excités dans le microrésonateur.
