The method of orientating a clockmaking component made of magnetically permeable or magnetic material having two ends. Two magnetic fields, each one attracting said component to a pole piece, are created on each side of said ends, with an imbalance in the strength of said magnetic fields about said component in order to create a force differential on this component and press one of said ends onto a contact surface of one of said pieces, and keep the other end away from the other pole piece. Magnetic pivot bearing comprising such a clockmaking component. It comprises a guide device with, at an air-gap distance greater than the inter-axis distance of said ends, surfaces of two pole pieces which are designed each to be attracted by a magnetic field emitted by one of said ends or each to generate a magnetic field that attracts one of said ends so that the magnetic forces applied to said two ends are of differing strengths, in order to attract one of said ends into contact with just one of said pole piece surfaces.

Procédé d'orientation d'un composant horloger en matériau perméable magnétiquement ou magnétique comportant deux extrémités. On crée de part et d'autre desdites extrémités deux champs magnétiques attirant chacun ledit composant sur une masse polaire, avec un déséquilibre d'intensité desdits champs magnétiques autour dudit composant pour créer un différentiel de forces sur ce dernier et plaquer une desdites extrémités sur une surface de contact d'une desdites masses, et maintenir l'autre extrémités à distance de l'autre masse polaire. Pivot magnétique comportant un tel composant horloger. II comporte un dispositif de guidage avec, à une distance d'entrefer supérieure à l'entraxe desdites extrémités, des surfaces de deux masses polaires agencées pour être attirée chacune par un champ magnétique émis par une desdites extrémités, ou pour générer chacune un champ magnétique attirant une desdites extrémités, de façon à ce que les forces magnétiques exercées auxdites deux extrémités soient d'intensité différente, pour attirer une desdites extrémités en contact avec une seule desdites surfaces polaires.
